SUB HILT KNIVES
A Sub-Hilt knife is a type of fixed-blade knife featuring a distinctive secondary guard positioned just below the main guard on the handle. This creates a finger loop, typically for the index finger, enhancing grip control during use. The sub-hilt primarily improves handling in high-stress scenarios:
Enhanced Grip locks the index finger in place, preventing slippage during vigorous thrusts or cuts—ideal for hunting or self-defense.
Thrust Control allows strong forward pressure without losing hold, the trigger helps retract the blade easily after penetration.
Balance and Maneuverability, Shifts weight for better control in reverse or forward grips, though it’s optimized for one-handed use.
Our DAMASCUS Steel is real and not just an acid etch. It’s a mixture of 1095HC and 15N20 nickel carbon. After heating them together and folding the bar over several times to get the desired 396 layers. Then you burn the blade in acid, and it turns the nickel satin color, and the high carbon turns blackish gray. This is how the layers are exposed to show the layers of the new steel created coined “Damascus”.
After high polish the metal it will be shinny satin like all steels. After polishing our knives and the handles and put an edge on the blade. The high polishing buffs off the acid burned layer of the handle, and the blade edge is sharpened and the acid burned edge becomes satin.
Damascus knife comes with the high-quality cowhide leather sheath. The sheath has attached straps for concealed and horizontal carry options.
Use Whet Stone to re-sharpen the blade. When done, wash it with soap and water, dry completely, coat with olive oil, and store away from the sheath. Leather pulls moisture out of the air and can rust the blade if stored improperly for long duration of time in the sheath.
Only the knife comes with the high-quality leather sheath in the photos.
Each knife is handmade from natural materials, there will be some variation in color, Damascus pattern and overall look. The knife you receive will have the same attention to quality and detail as the one pictured but may differ slightly in appearance.
